JAY. https://jessykikabou.studio/Jordan-District-23 Jordan, District 23 BRANDING EVENT With the upcoming Olympics in Paris, we observed a sad reality: while i shines internationally, this competition excludes the whole Parisian youth and doesn’t reflect the reality of our culture. Here came the idea of over a year-long project in the making: Yard teamed up with Jordan to bring to life Youssouf Fofana’s unique vision for this whole new district, dedicated to the youth and inclusive to all. In the 18th arrondissement of Paname, a symbolic neighborhood known for its hospitality and as the capital of all the suburbs of France, the youth of the world came together this summer to create. Through sports, fashion, arts, and gastronomy, District 23 is an invitation to celebrate the initiatives of a bold generation. In this iconic building filled with the memories of Parisians, this space is being reborn to give shape to the dreams of an entire neighborhood and bring Youssouf’s Union de la Jeunesse Internationale to the next level. Yard accepted the challenge, from the renovation of the entire building to the scenography, the programming and the art direction, helping shape this space to build an uncommon creative experience to the youth. 18 for the 23. 23 for the 18. My litterature teacher read us "Poem to my white brother" of Senghor. After that, nothing. In history books french black figures are in the shadow..Netflix wanted to continue the initiative of Jeymes Samuel —to talk more about the untold black stories, like he did with "The Harder They Fall" about black cowboys. So it was an evidence for us, not to talk about american heroes again, but to tell the story of our own black legends, here in France.We've created "Lumières Noires" an open air museum to highlight our french black legends, in the middle of Paris. With writers, fencers or singers.. From Toussaint Louverture to Raoul Diagne or the Nardal sisters... we let independent black historians (as @/ leparisnoir) and creatives telling all the stories.And during 3 days, hundreds of people came to this all black museum. We were looking for a symbol and a positive message so the kids can see that we support them and stand by their side. So we’ve created the Childish Logos.In November, we made all the teams from the Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT go child again, for the International Day of Kid’s Rights. We asked kids from the childhood protection associations all over the country, to draw the logo of their favorite club. And during a whole week-end the 40 teams replaced their logo on social media and in the stadiums during game day - so nobody can’t ignore this call.And to go further we joined Mohamed Bouhafsi on the organisation of a dream week-end and a huge tournament for 240 kids from the childhood protection associations, on the best field of the country : the Stade de France. It’s rooted in a very Canadian insight: there is a deep strength in being an outsider. A hyper-local story&nbsp; that we know we share with the french youth. However they don’t have a community to be part of yet – not connecting, gathering, or sharing enough experiences and moments with each other. To unite them, we created a film that would serve as a rallying cry - and a warning. It would remind them that they’re not alone: they have a home in the Raptors with their unwavering determination, grit, and hustle.&nbsp; The film highlighted emerging talents from the Greater Paris area. We gave flowers to the next generation shaping Parisian and French culture. To do so we created the most diverse dance crew, introducing : the Snipes Crew. After telling their stories, we released a film starring this Dream Team. This film references the place where all the hip hop dance styles and energies meet : the Cypher. An event to create connexions. To reveal this incredible dance crew the Paris dance scene to follow their step by connecting with each other, we created : LE JAM. An event made for all types of dancers to create connexions, through cyphers too.
